2012 NABD Conference Winds Down

LAS VEGAS — A week's worth of training sessions, discussions
of best practices and analysis of current trends reached a crescendo today as
the 2012 NABD Conference orchestrated by the National Alliance of Buy-Here,
Pay-Here Dealers came to a close.
The conference's final day included a session on ways BHPH dealers
can improve their potential buyer pool as well as panels of best practices for
both large stores and smaller rooftops.
Keith Whann of Whanntech shared a presentation titled, "Attracting
Customers: Risk, Reward ... Opportunity."
The dealer panel that highlighted ways larger BHPH stores can
sharpen their strategies included:
—H.L. Hensley of AutoMax of Lubbock in Lubbock, Texas
—Monte Johnston of Automatic Auto Finance in Springdale, Ark.
—Lawrence Meade of Easton Motors in Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.
—Robert Milligan of EZ Credit/PBR Auto Sales in Dallas
—John Troxell of Ace Motor Acceptance in Matthews, N.C.
The dealer panel that aimed to share methods for smaller
—Mitch James of Onaway Auto & Finance in Onaway, Mich.
—Brian Kane of Kane's Auto Exchange in Cleveland
—Wes McCurry of McCurry Motors in Huntsville, Ala.
—Trey Poppenheimer of Memphis Auto Sales in Memphis, Tenn.
Finally, the conference wrapped up with a panel titled, "Ask
the Counselors," a group of five legal experts in the BHPH space and beyond.

While the alliance just concluded its annual conference,
founder Ken Shilson already was setting his sights on what NABD has coming
later this year.
The NABD BHPH Boot Camp is scheduled for Aug. 18 and 19 in
Charlotte, N.C. And the East Coast NABD BHPH Conference is set for Oct. 21–23
